While growing up, founder Jea Reese and her son, Jamal “Tank” Goodman shared a passion for education and football. After succeeding in both the classroom and on the field, “Tank” gained the attention of his community and of football scouts. He accepted a scholarship to Dixie State University (DSU) in St. George, Utah. While Tank ended up at DSU because of football, his goal was to make an impact off the field. Tank was in the process of completing a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice when his life came to a tragic end on June 23, 2020.
Shortly after losing her son, Jea Reese decided the best way to pay tribute to Tank, was to turn tragedy into a moment of transformation. In October of 2020, the non-profit organization, T.A.N.K Foundation (Taking Action Now for Kids, Inc.) was established. The goal is to empower youth of the Inland Empire through education, help students with the cost of post-secondary education, health and wellness and community service.
